An Edible Book Festival

Have you ever heard of an "Edible Book Festival"?

Yesterday, Dominican University hosted one right on their campus. It was so much fun and the food was delightful! Every participant brought in food that represented a book or a character. It could be any kind of food, any kind of book or any kind of character.  I saw an eerie graveyard brownie cake for The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. There was a silly "Eat me" cake for Alice in Wonderland.  I even had some spaghetti and peas for the picture book L, M, N, O Peas by Keith Baker. If you are having a party celebrating literature any time soon, I highly recommend making it an "Edible Book Festival" just to see what people can come up with!

This was my contribution to the Festival. It is a Fancy Nancy Cake celebrating Jane O'Connor's newest Fancy Nancy book that will be coming out in May, Nancy Clancy Super Sleuth.  Everything about the cake was fancy.  Even the cake itself was dyed pink!
