National Poetry Month

Explore the web and enjoy a few of these great poetry sites! Or, pick up a poetry book at the library to enjoy on your own!

Read Write Think has a great tool for creating your very own poetry called "Word Mover". It's like an online magnetic word board!

Check out this Poetry Idea Engine! How cool!

The Favorite Poem Project from 1997 is a collection of 50 video documentaries of people, ages 5 to 97, reading their favorite poems. I wish I had read a poem for this project!

The Children's Poetry Archive is a neat little place on the web that I recently discovered. It is chalk full of poems that are read out loud...most of them by the poets themselves! Even Roald Dahl can be found reading one of his poems on this archive. Be careful though, you may be stuck on this site for a very long time listening to poetry!
