These are a few of my favorite things...

So it is the end of the month, just before May begins.  Goodbye April showers, and hello May flowers.  And it does seem like April wants to live up to the saying, so here comes a week of rain.  I don't mind too much - everything seems a little greener, and flowers are popping up everywhere!  Spring is in the air, and not a winter coat in sight.  What a glorious thing!  Putting the winter coat away for the year is one of my favorite things to do, and here are a few more of my favorite things this month.

This list of Abe Award Nominees.  My mountain of 'to read' books just skyrocketed with this list.  There are some books on there that I just can't wait to get my hot little hands on.

Better gnomes and gardens
This book.  What the Moon Said.  Click the link, read the review, and then I know you will want to check it out!  Spectacular story and wonderful characters.  It is one of those books I will read again and again.

This program - DuPage County Master Gardeners Help Desk.  I need all the help I can get.  I think my thumb plumb forgot to turn green.  That is why I leave the gnomes to do the gardening at my house.  Check out this link to all of our programs and events.

These wonderful librarians.  They can help you find what you need, from all those last minute end of school year projects, to you next favorite book.  They are here to help.

This homework help.  It's the end of the year and a little help from a tutor, or a reliable source of information from World Book or other databases
can really help you out before those report cards roll in.  And you can access them all from home with your library card.

This website for free background music for school projects.  Need some background music for a video you created for school?  This site has tons of free music you can download just for that and not get in trouble!  It is easy to do and will make your project fabulous!

These Museum Adventure Passes.  Beautiful weather means it is time to get out and explore.  Come on in and get a museum pass that is good towards free admission or a special discount.  All you need is your library card!

And this website for all you explorers out there.  Make sure to only go out with mom, dad, or a grown up.  Geocaching can be a crazy amount of fun, a real challenge, and a great way to spend the day as a family!  I have found 22 so far.  How many will you find?

So, there you have it.  These are a few of my favorite things....for April.  What were some of your favorites of the month?
