Merry LEON Day

I wish you a Merry LEON Day.  LEON Day, you say?  What is LEON Day?  LEON Day is "Noel" spelled backwards.  It means there is 6 months until Christmas!  Now don't start to panic, six months is still a long time, although I think Santa may begin sending his elves around to make sure we are being nice and not naughty.

I found some fun ideas to share with you to help celebrate LEON Day.

Celebrate a mini-Christmas
Wrap up a few Christmas books, movies and music CD's and put them under a plant or flower in your house.  Then throughout the day unwrap one and either read or watch a movie.  If it's a music CD, you can go bake Christmas cookies while listening to the holiday tunes or have fun making some holiday crafts.  You may even want to prepare a Christmas feast for dinner that evening.  Yummy turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce!

Have a Backwards Day
Since LEON is Noel spelled backwards you can have a backwards day.
  • Write backwards
  • Wear your clothes backwards
  • Wear your sunglasses on the back of your head
  • Walk backwards
  • Serve breakfast for dinner or serve dessert first
  • Read the book Tell Me the Day Backwards by Albert Lamb (yes, the library owes it!)
Hopefully you'll decide to just be silly and enjoy the day.  Hmm, I wonder if it's too early to start my Christmas wish list?
