What's New for December

December tends to be a busy month with everyone getting ready for the holidays.  The library will be bustling with activity too!  Here are a few YS events we would love to have you join us for this month.

On Monday, December 4, it's time for another round of Books and Popcorn.  The book this time is Dragonbreath:  Attack of the Ninja Frogs by Ursula Vernon.  Ms. Vernon's comic-book style writing is well loved by children.  This particular title has lots of kung fu, plenty of school drama, and just a little bit of love.  Fans of Wimpy Kid  and Bad Kitty will enjoy this series.  Join Miss Liz for some great discussion, an activity and some popcorn!

Calling all Mario Kart enthusiasts.  Join Miss Stephanie on the first Wednesday night of the month for some Mario Madness.  Bring a group of friends or come alone - there will be plenty of competition!  This is for ages 6-11 and will run from 5-7 PM.  While you are cheering on the other players, enjoy snacking on some popcorn!

The monthly program, Kreative Kids, occurs on Thursday, December 7 from 4:30-5:15 PM.  Children ages K-2 will explore winter with Miss Tammi by participating in some science and art activities, along with enjoying  stories to enhance the theme. Registration started November 27th.

But the fun is not only reserved for the weekdays! On Sunday, December 10th, we have two events!  From 1:30-3 PM,  Miss Loretta will be showing children in grades 3-5 how to re-purpose old books into beautiful holiday decorations in Decorate for the Holidays...Library Style!  Registration begins on November 27th for this creative event. Then at 3:30 PM, children ages birth to six years may listen to Miss Laura read stories in Polish!

Totime on December 19th from 11:30-12:00 PM, is a great time for children 6-20 minutes to come in and learn how to play together.  Miss Liz will read a fun story and then out come the toys and it's playtime!  This is a wonderful way to meet other families and possibly make some play dates!

Calling all cooks who love books.  Join Miss Loretta for a new program called Books and CooksListen to some great books and then learn how to make a snack based off of one of the books!  Registration begins December 4th.

We look forward to having you join us in some December frolic! To register for events, click here.
