Family Programs in July

I hope you have been enjoying the Thursday family programming we have been hosting in June.  I'd like to share our upcoming July programs  and suggest that you register early because seats have been going fast!

On Thursday, July 5 at 1 PM, put on your dancing shoes and come join us to "shake your groove thing."  Whether you know the Macarena, Funky Chicken, the Carlton or the Floss, we want you to join us for some dancing fun.  This program does not require any registration, so feel free to drop in with your friends and strike a pose!

Attention all Minecraft fans - we have a show for you.  On Thursday, July 12, Brent Allen will present an interactive show with puppets, magic and of course, lots of laughter.  Registration began on June 25th, so please call 630-529-1641 *351, to find out if  seats are available. A BIG thank you goes out to Salerno's Rosedale Chapels for sponsoring this wonderful program for us.

I don't know if you love learning about reptiles and amphibians, but I sure do!  Come meet The Frog Lady on July 19th.  She will share over twenty live animals for kids to meet and touch (I'm staying far away from the snake, though!).  Your animal knowledge will increase as she teaches you about the differences between reptiles and amphibians in a fun and safe environment.  Registration for this event begins on July 2nd.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to juggle?  On July 26th, Mike Vondruska from the Illinois Juggling Institute will perform for you and then give you a chance to try juggling for yourself.  I saw Mike last year and he was just amazing.  Registration for this program begins July 9th.

And just when you were getting used to coming to the library on Thursdays to enjoy the shows, we are going to mix things up a bit and offer PaleoJoe on Monday, July 30th at 1 PM.  Joe is an archaeologist who will introduce you to animals, plants, and creatures which have been extinct for millions of years.  If you want to learn more about fossils, think about checking out the Simply Science Dinosaur kit before the show.  Maybe you can amaze PaleoJoe with your fossil knowledge.  Register starting July 16th.
