Summer reading is just zooming by too quickly. It will be over in just 8 short days. I just cannot believe it! Close to six hundred children ranging from birth to 6 grade have signed up to participate in the summer reading program. The Youth Services Department is just grinning like Cheshire cats at the popularity of the program this year. Do you realize that if just 500 children finish the reading challenge of 12 hours, the children of Roselle will have read 6,000 hours or 360,000 minutes in just 8 weeks? And that's not counting the hours the children who completed the bonus sheets read. No summer slides for these smart kiddos! I can see their teachers doing cartwheels of joy right now.
So find a spot to sit down and finish up those reading minutes. We have prizes left to give for your amazing efforts. Don't forget to fill out a drawing ticket each time you check in with us. You never know, you may receive a call from the library stating that you have won a gift card or tickets to passes to the Shedd Aquarium. Remember the last day of summer reading is July 31st, so don't delay and get reading today!
